BIOGRAPHY OF THE DIRECTOR

Born in Mexico City in 1986, she studied a Bachelor’s degree at CENTRO (MX) and a Masters
degree on Screenwriting at London Film School.
With her feature project, Xibalba Monster, she obtained the Young Creators grant in
2010. In 2013, she participated in the International Residence and Workshop for Filmmakers Cine
Qua Non Lab, Michoacán. The same year she was selected for the Course for Development of
Ibero-American Projects of Ibermedia Programme. In 2018, the same project was selected to
participate in the Typa Foundation Workshop for First and Second Films, which took place in
Splendor Omnia, Tepoztlán. This film is currently in search for funding.
Her short film, A gesture (2015) was part of the official selection of 13th Morelia International Film
Festival (MX, 2015), Cinélatino, 28emmes Rencontres de Toulouse (France, 2016) and Shorts
Mexico (Mexico, 2016).
In 2018, she wrote and directed Sol del llano, a short film shot in the Colombian plains. The same
year, she worked as producer and editor for the feature Serpent’s Paradise, with director Bernardo
Arellano.
Both films premiered at Morelia International Film Festival 2019 where Sol del llano won the Renta
Imagen Award. Internationally, Sol del llano premiered at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short
Film Festival as part of the International Official Selection.
From there it has been part of multiple international selections such as: REGARD, Huelva,
KINOFORUM, Black Canvas (Award for Best Mexican Short Film), amongst others.
