SYNOPSIS

Harry Scribner is a frustrated writer who finds himself caught between fictional worlds of his own making. While trying to write his action-hero characters out of a maze-like complex, he is suddenly arrested by two detectives who confiscate his writings and charge him with fraud. As the line between fiction and reality becomes harder to discern, Harry’s characters become his only guide through the dangerous territory of the imagination.

BIOGRAPHY OF THE DIRECTORS

Director’s Bio – Jonah Zeiger
Jonah Zeiger is a director, producer, actor, and writer who has worked in both film and theatre. In addition to The Art Police, which he wrote and directed, he also produced the independent TV pilot/short film The King of URLs, (Judges Prize for Best Short Film and Audience Award for Best Drama, Chicago International Reel Shorts Fest; Official Selection, New York Television Festival, ITVFest) and the award-winning short True Confessions of a Sushi Addict, (Student Academy Award; Audience Award, Newport Film Festival; Showtime) directed by Kimberly Harwood. Jonah holds an MFA from NYU Film School and currently teaches professional development for MFA students in screenwriting and documentary at Northwestern University. He also chairs the Creative Cabinet of the Independent Film Alliance (IFA) Chicago. He has hosted and moderated conversations with such cinematic luminaries as Werner Herzog, Sam Raimi, Tim Robbins, Christine Vachon, Paula Wagner, Bob Odenkirk, and Tom DiCillo.

Director’s Bio – Kimberly Harwood
Kimberly Harwood is a writer, director, producer, and editor who has worked in various capacities on short films, features, and television. She wrote and directed the award-winning short film, True Confessions of a Sushi Addict which won the Student Academy Award, Newport Film Festival Audience Award, Lower East Side Best Short Film Award, among others. It also screened at dozens of international film festivals, and was broadcast on five continents. She was also a producer on the award-winning short, The King of URLs that took the top jury prize and an audience award at the Chicago International Reel Shortsfest. She has sold screenplays to Oscar-nominated producers and currently has a sci-fi romantic comedy feature in development. Kimberly holds an MFA in filmmaking from NYU Graduate Film School.
