Quedate (Stay) is the story of Guillermo, a transporter of illegal immigrants, who works for a human trafficking ring in the outskirts of New York City. One fateful night during the arrival of a group of Central Americans, he discovers two refugees, Alondra and her son, Victor, hiding inside his truck. He reluctantly decides to shelter them in his apartment for several days while his organization begins the hunt to find them. As Guillermo grows increasingly attached to Alondra and Victor, he begins seeing them as a way out of his dark lifestyle -- until his secret is discovered.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Bradley Bixler is a New York-based independent filmmaker. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Miami, he grew up in a rich and vibrant culture surrounded by fascinating people. He began writing and directing films as an undergraduate student while studying Visual Arts and Media Production in North Carolina and has since written and directed over seven short films. He is currently pursuing his Master of Fine Arts in Directing and Cinematography at the prestigious New York University Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film program. His next project in development is his first feature film, to be shot in Puerto Rico.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Rajat Sharma is a Film Producer, Director and Actor from New Delhi, India. He has produced over 10 short films and worked on 3 feature films as an actor. His films have played at festivals in LA, London, Madrid and Mumbai. He is currently pursuing MBA and MFA degrees from NYU’s Stern School of Business and Tisch School of the Arts. His next projects are 2 shorts films on NYPD’s Stop and Frisk program and a Sloan Grant Award-winning script about a marine biologist.

Quedate explores the realities of illegal immigrants who enter the country through a perilous and unpredictable journey of risk and sacrifice. It is a story of crossroads, of how an incident can converge strangers into making split-second decision which subsequently change the lives of many. Quedate immerses us into a man’s unexpected moral dilemma -- a struggle between self-identity, redemption and hopeful love. Every action he takes has the potential to save a life while consequently endangering his own.
