BIOGRAPHY OF THE DIRECTOR
Santiago Reale. Casbas 1988. He is a screenwriter and director. He has a degree in audiovisual arts at the Universidad Nacional de la Plata. His short film Esta es mi selva (2015) has received several awards and was selected in more than 30 festivals. In April 2016, he participated in the Talent Buenos Aires, within the framework of the 18th edition of Bafici. In 2017 he was awarded the Campus Arché + Hangar Lisboa + Márgenes Madrid scholarships. In 2018 his short film Aquel verano sin hogar had its world premiere at Doclisboa, International Documentary Film Festival. Portugal (2018) and won the Best Short Film award at Mar del Plata International Film Festival. Argentina (2018). Condor de Plata Award for Best Short Film 2019. He worked as a pre selection jury at the Fondo Nacional de las Artes. In 2019 he premiered Los Rugidos que alejan la tormenta at the Berlinale. That same year he won again the Biennial of Young Art and with that award he filmed the first part of his tetralogy Distant Light - Los desventurados. He is currently developing La noche de los animales, produced by La union de los rios, and the following chapters of his feature film Distant Light.
