BIOGRAPHY OF THE DIRECTOR
Marcela Cossíos was born in Lima in 1973. She is scriptwriter, film director and translator. She works as a screenwriter, script doctor and screenwriting teacher.
In Madrid, she collaborated with the script of the feature documentary film Cristóbal Halffter, Libertad Imaginada (La Comuna Vertical, 2014).
The Bull's wife (2016), her first short as screenwriter and director, received the jury award at the Trujillo Film Festival and the award for best fiction short film at the Huánuco Film Festival. Her second short film, Under the balcony (2019), continues to participate in festivals. It won the Audience special mention winner at the Saint-Petersburg International Film Festival (SPIFF) Competition dedicated to Women (2020), and the Special Jury Section Award at the 2nd Annual Hollywood Venus Awards (Istanbul) 2021.
She has just finished her master's degree in Creative Writing at the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Lima and she is working on her first novel.
