BIOGRAPHY OF THE DIRECTOR
Viviane D’Avilla is a documentary filmmaker, director and photographer. She specialized in conceptual and documentary photography at the School of Visual Arts, Parque Lage, and also at the International Center of Photography, in New York. Viviane is represented by ArtSpace galleries in New York and Mentana in Italy. In 2017 he won the prize for best photography at the Florence Biennial, Italy. Her most recent project as a director, GOPI, a documentary about a young intersexual in India, won awards in Brazil and abroad. He was selected for a competitive show at the Rio Festival and won the best film award at the festival in Bangalore, India. Viviane started her newest ODU authorial project, the ancestral path, which addresses the theme of the cultural and ancestral connection between Brazil and Africa. Viviane currently co-directs the film on the life and work of Luiz Melodia.
