BIOGRAPHY OF THE DIRECTOR
Nathan Clark Sapsford is an actor, writer and director from Sydney, Australia, based in Los Angeles California.
As an actor, TV Credits include TNT's The Last Ship and Gunslingers for AHC/Discovery Networks in the US, Home And Away and All Saints for Network 7 and The Easybeats for the ABC in Australia.
On film Nathan will appear in the leading role of war crimes investigator David Locke in the upcoming Balkan feature thriller Here Be Dragons in 2021. Other film credits include the American independent film festival winners Cement Suitcase and KEY, What Lola Wants, JukeBox Hero, The Creation of Aspen and Artful Gambit.
Prior writing credits include the dark comedy short Bathtub which he wrote, produced and acted in, winning him two Best Actor Awards at film festivals in Los Angeles CA and Queensland Australia. He also created the YouTube hit short series Life SAVER which he made during Covid quarantine in 2020 on a deserted Aussie beach.
Nathan has also been a frequent player on the stage all over the world.
2019 saw him play Boris, a nefarious Russian immigrant to New York City to media acclaim, in the Australian premiere of award-winning Russian Transport at Sydney’s iconic Darlinghurst Theatre Company.
2018 saw him with acclaimed Mexican theatre company Teatro Del Mundo and acclaimed director Antonio Salinas in Looking For Hamlet in which Hamlet was told in four languages and large scale multi-media in an ancient East German castle.
2017 in Melbourne, Trigorin in the Australian Premiere of Stupid F*cking Bird, the award-winning adaption of Anton Checkov’s The Seagull.
On the LA stage in 2016 Nathan played the title role in the iconic Australian play Ruben Guthrie in its US Premiere in Los Angeles with the Australian Theatre Company, winning the Scenie award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy.
FERNANDO is Nathan’s first outing as a director.
