SYNOPSIS

María is a 6-year-old girl who lives with her grandparents. Her mother is a political disappeared. Her father, a political prisoner, writes letters to her from jail. A couple of years later, once he gets his freedom back, María moves in with him. She will get to know her father and a different way of going through her childhood.

BIOGRAPHY OF THE DIRECTOR

SOFIA ALURRALDE

Sofía Alurralde was born in Buenos Aires in 1974. She is director and producer. She worked as an assistant director for a long time for feature films and advertising. In the production area, she was the executive producer of “Estrellas” (2005) by Federico León and Marcos Martínez. She also was executive producer in the production company Mateína SRL (2005 to 2008), and the films “El Desierto negro” (2006/2007) by Gaspar Scheuer, “Cuestión de Principios” (2009) by Rodrigo Grande. Production designer: “Lo Nuestro no funciona” (2003) by Nicolás Álvarez and Iván Wolovik and the documental “La muerte” (2003) by Pablo Trapero. She was production manager in “Ana y los otros” (2002) by Celina Murga a“El Juego de la Silla” (2002) by Ana Katz, awarded at the San Sebastián Film Festival in 2002. She produced “La hora de no dormir” Anahí Berneri, the children's musical theater play (2011-2013). Together with Eugenia Guevara, she directed and produced the short film “El Final de la escapada” (Runaway, 2015), Argentinian National Fund of Arts Scholarship. Since 2016 she has been part of the audiovisual and performance production company Plataforma Proyectil created by Nicolás Álvarez and Joaquín Ostrovsky where they developed: “Familia Diversa” visual performances shared with other artistic disciplines for different cultural spaces. She worked on the documentary “El arte de cuidar”(2018) by Nicolás Álvarez and Joaquín Ostrovky. Actually she’s directed “Vida Animal” experimental medium-length film, work in progress.

EUGENIA GUEVARA

Eugenia Guevara was born in 1975 in Córdoba, Argentina. She is a writer and a journalist.
Graduated from Cordoba National University, she has a degree in Social Communication, a Master Degree in studies on Drama and Argentine Films. Candidate for a Doctorate in Theory and History of the Arts at University of Buenos aires. In 2005 she obtained a scholarship from Argentinian National Fund of Arts to write the essay book “Veintiocho, about forced disappearance”, published in 2015 by Alción.
Since 1998 she works as a film critic and cultural journalist: she made reviews for newspapers such as La voz del interior from Cordoba, Supplement No on Pagina 12, the movie website Cineismo, and mexican magazine Toma, among others. She published an online culture magazine called Ruleta China (2007/2015) which evolved later on a compilation book by the same name. And also, “Entrevistas y Collages sobre eso y aquello” (2012, Ediciones con Doble Zeta). She worked as a director on an experimental short film called “Cumpleaños” (2004, w/Ivan Wolovik) and another shortfilm called “El final de la escapada” (Runaway, 2015, w/Sofía Alurralde). This shor film earned a subsidy from National Fund of Arts for its making. And moreove , she's a university lecturer on theory and history of film. She is currently living and working in Buenos Aires.
