BIOGRAPHY OF THE DIRECTOR
Krystal White
Writer/Director/Producer/Actor
A Greek African-American raised in California and Greece with an avid love for film, Krystal earned her B.A. in English Literature & Art History in the United Kingdom while shadowing costume designers in local theaters. She then moved on to intern on the set of Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix, where she became inspired to turn her love for film and storytelling into her career. Krystal continued to gain experience on the sets of other films, including the musical Mamma Mia!, and eventually moved to Los Angeles where she found herself assisting writers in script development, joining an acting class, and ultimately taking the leap to writing and directing her own material. Her short films have been exhibited in several Academy-accredited international film festivals and her screenplays have placed in final or quarter-final rounds of the ScreenCraft and Austin Film Festival Screenplay competitions, the PAGE Awards, the Academy Nicholl Fellowships, and among The Black List's 5% top-rated scripts. Krystal is drawn to stories that inspire, move hearts, and sometimes explore the complex and uncomfortable.
