Moodily shot in nighttime clubs and bedrooms, this expressive drama brings together two queer folks who want what the other seems to have: femme, sensitive Elliott, stuck in hookup culture seeking connection, and brutish Jake seeking escape from marriage. BIOGRAPHY OF THE DIRECTOR

Tim Courtney has a diverse range of experience, from short-form cinema to music videos for some of Scotland’s best independent artists. He has exhibited short films, music videos and art installations across the globe including The National Review of Live Art, The Barbican, Glasgow Short Film Festival, the Edinburgh International Film Festival and Aesthetica. His work has also featured on BBC The Social, BBC Scotland, Drowned in Sound and ESPN. He has also just finished directing his first block of RIVER CITY for BBC Studios. In 2018 he won the Best Short Film BAFTA Scotland Award for MY LONELINESS IS KILLING ME, a Scottish Film Talent Network commission with support from Creative Scotland and the BFI Network. The film premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and has also screened at over 30 other festivals including BFI Flare and the Iris Prize Film Festival where it was nominated for Best British Short Film. Tim has created original music for some of his projects, one of which was nominated for a BAFTA New Talent award for Best Original Music. He was also selected for the Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Lab in 2018, and the Edinburgh Film Festival Talent Lab in 2017. Tim is known for his stylised visions without compromising on the truth in his narratives. He is drawn to issue-driven projects and topics he can get passionate about, but at the same time, he has a sense of humour on the darker side of the spectrum.
